Lesson 1 : Armenian alphabet

Lesson 1 : Armenian alphabet

Our first lesson is about the Armenian alphabet. Initially composed of 36 letters, the alphabet eventually expanded to include three additional characters. In Armenian, the term for ‘alphabet’ is “այբուբեն” (aybuben), deriving its name from the first two letters of the Armenian alphabet: “այբ” (ayb) and “բեն” (ben). The Armenian language is written horizontally from left to right.

Now, we are going to learn the first four letters of Armenian language.
